Rockefeller University print design for Spring lecture series
OK so if you're as inundated as I am at times with pop culture, you immediately thought "Jay-Z is starting a school?" Not quite. We were tapped by close friend to the Sundree team Arianne Dowdell, to work with the school in branding a series of lectures called "Conversations on Science &...". The ... is everything from Politics to art to, well... and we were more that excited to work with such a smart team of people and for something outside of the usual.
Founded by John D. Rockefeller, the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research has been around since 1901. It was the first institution in the US devoted to understanding the underlying causes of disease.
MAGnificent Magazine PhotoShoot- This creative project came from the lack of good fashion print publications out there in this currently saturated market. So we took on the responsibility of bringing to the table a publication that combines a little cool, some pop culture, music and a few "off the beaten path" anecdotes. World... meet the faces of Magnificent.
If there's an opportunity to show actual footage of "Bigfoot" we at Sundree, feel we need to jump on it. This was taken with my cameraphone just last week when we were playing golf in Fort Washington, MD. We were on a par 5 and when we got close to the green this M@tha F%#!er walks by! Ain't that some ish?

ActorsRap- Jeremy Manzay is going to make it big in hollywood one day. When he does he will always remember that it was the Sundree team that designed the bill for his original play that tried to way lay the rappers and starred rev run's daughter before she posed naked in Quentin "nigger" Tarantino's flick. Along with creating everything from the logo to the site we took great satisfaction in working with such a talented group of individuals. We'll see this hit play on Broadway in no time!
Mens Fitness-Once again Moithukshungai! In addition to the numerous projects that we tackle as a company, we sometimes lend our creative director to brands like Men's Fitness so he can flex his creative muscles in other offices. A junkie for editorial design and print in general, Shung prefers to put his money where his mouth is and not only hit the gym but design around fitness as well. This is still not going to make up for his abandonment of New York Sports.
Vibe- Our Vibe is just what Quincy Jones would of wanted if he was still involved. Our creative director and partner Moithukshung flat left us and creative directed two of the hottest issues Vibe had put out in a very long time.
MTV asked the Sundree team to create an eye-catching backdrop that would be printed on a larger than life vinyl banner. We did it based on the "Tiki Hut" Hawaiian theme of the Heineken sponsored hotel conversion that MTV had Diddy host. At first we thought it was pretty lame that we weren't invited out to attend the festivities in Miami but later realized a blessing in disguise when hurricane Hugo hit.

Great Small Works Richard Pryor Tribute - we've done everything, including work with a bearded lady and a performance troupe. We have absolutely no hang ups work is work but when we get to collaborate with creative artists like Jenny Romaine (or as we so affectionately refer, J-Ro) and the gang from GSW it's a huge pleasure and more than likely a brand new experience.
We did a live performance/fashion show/spoken word tribute to the great comedic genius of Richard Pryor. HiCoup did an incredible job of channeling his inner Richard and the Sundree team came up with approx 10/12 unique t-shirt designs based on the words or imagery of Pryor. M*@%f#$&er!
Weezy needed a way to capitalize on all this footage he had(some legal, some illegal). So we worked with our cousin company pixod and pixod's cousin and videographer Q.Gary to launch the promotional Pre Pay Site - WeezyLive.com. Note that we also created online banner ads that ran across various hiphop and entertainment sites across the country.

BKNY- Our Room Service family have been putting on a kick ass hip hop show for the past three years. We have consulted with them on the festival from merchandising, booking acts, and preventing Just Ice from "Deeboing" everybody on the bill.
The yellow tee is our first BHF/Sundree collabo.
Lupe was a real new jack at the time!
Everybody was clammoring to get in the Fest.
Our Mr Wolf is always trying to school somebody on the legal system.
The first fold addressed the need to create a site with "urban international chic" which was consistent with the photo shoot and design of the BOOK. The second fold was to make sure the direction of the site was to sell the shit out of the book. We then left the meting(too much henessy), i mean meeting and was feeling quite spirited.

Jam N' TV- Viacom the second most important government agency next to congress, courted us then swiped our brand development initiatives for their new Caribbean channel. Beware when a Viacom executive invites you to his office and offers you free water while he stares at your mock's in silence for hours.
Maverick Ent "The Dawn"-Produced it for this chop shop entertainment company. We did everything from direct this film to design the dvd packaging. Not to mention the star of this film is responsible for almost every urban line out in the last 10 years! Props to O.
Carols Daughter- Before steve stoute, will smith, and his wife and Jay z made this girlie product brand relevant we did the print design for their catalogue which featured the i am legend dudes wife. The I am legend dude has been good money for a long time. His not so famous chubby little brother was whipping a royal blue corvette in Hampton University back in 1990.
Keith Campbell-Who say's a bunch of heterosexual men who like to slap box and read the jet beauty of the week while in the bathroom can't design girlie hair designs for Keith Campbell, hairdresser to the fine ass ladies!
151 Denim - Ok...so we like denim. Yet another very well designed and manufactured denim line that pulled in the Sundree team to create an eye-catching look book and stationary package for them. For this unique brand we utilized their button design as the brand identity while tapping into, fashion photographer extraordinaire Stefan Nyvang to shoot the lookbook and ad campaign.
Colin's Jeans - This Turkish Premium denim company tapped the Sundree team to devise a strategy for their US debut. With their unique washes being a key selling point, we also chose their European design aesthetic and fit to focus their national print advertising campaign. Our "Magazine Cover-esque" design approach allowed for us to introduce a brand while giving their new market a grandiose perception of this global denim company.
Köperhaus-The creative genius behind Köperhaus (means "denim house" in german), Mr Sparrow brought us on board to "bring to life" his advertising campaign. With such a forward thinking company comes an equally edgy brand development strategy. So we took the "Thelma & Louise" theme and brought the independent woman meets sexy siren and married the two in the this national print campaign for the US/German brand.
Sidney Frank Importing Co- Who can say they sat with the owner of Grey Goose as he smoked on a stogie and we pitched the design and brand development for get this- a clear cognac. Yo he was letting the ashes from the stogie fall onto his track suit. The whole time he had on big black little Kim shades. RIP Mr. Frank.
